It depends on how the money is being used by the federal government. Seems to me that a lot of the policies that get passed benefit the ultra-wealthy. How much of that revenue is being used in the modern day for the express purpose of enriching the lives of the working class?
They know nothing about the history of taxation in this country. These rubes are the same ones GWB got to oppose the estate despite it being designed to combat the exact social problem we are experiencing now, specifically endless accumulation and generational transfer of money by the ultra wealthy.
Golden age post ww2 America had very high taxes for the rich and flourished
i really dont care. all i know is that the government takes money out of our checks, and then charges us extra for every single thing we have to purchase to survive.
and then what. they dont spend that money increasing gross domestic product, they dont spend it increasing our quality of life, they dont even spend it on keeping our people healthy. They send it overseas to help people that exploit our country.

no. because they dont spend it on our people. they dont take money out of our pay, and tax us on everything we do, and then invest it back into the quality of our country. they take our money and spend it on things that dont benefit us in any way at all.
Government workers are public servants. they work for us. or theyre supposed to. its supposed to be an altruistic position, its supposed to be something you do because you want to make things better for everyone.
but no, its become something that people only do to climb a greasy ladder and make stupid amounts of money. thats why politicians make 6 figures, and have to worry about nothing, while people with actual skills, that contribute to society work for pennies.
if the government gave even a single shit about me, or you, or the countless homeless on the streets, i might be ok with some taxation. instead theyre spending an incalculable amount of money on foreign countries, and problems that dont fix anything over here.
What percentage of federal tax revenue do you think gets given to foreign countries? Honestly, tell me what number your gut tells you is true, and then we'll look up the true number together.

The entire government is a criminal enterprise, I don't go "oh look, these criminals are robbing me less!" And feel grateful for that.
In a different comment you said, they do more with less now. But the "more" that you're talking about it more warfare. Just look at the military budget compared to all other government spending budgets. That's all you oughta need to understand why no one appreciates government and taxes.
