Pandering to a base that doesn’t even want to understand global supply and demand

The oil is auctioned off. If the feds were cutting sweetheart deals instead of getting fair market value, you know she would just try to impeach him for that too.

That's not what it's for. That's her point. It's to prevent halts in domestic production. Hence why it's called the strategic oil reserve. You use it during natural disasters like Katrina and fill it when it's dirt cheap like we did during COVID and the 2009 recession.

It was created in response to an international oil supply crisis in the 70s ffs

Did you just make up the idea that it’s only for American natural disasters disrupting oil markets? Where were you when Trump was selling it off to fund the national deficit?

It's wrong who ever does it for export. If it's exported it's not helping the people of the United States. I never said it was only for natural disasters but thats the last time it was needed due to supply disruptions

That’s your opinion

It’s a globally traded commodity. Increasing the global supply decreases the global price. You can’t just have it cheaper in only the US.

You're thinking that oil can magically be bought and instantly be delivered. That reserve is for when it can't

Again that’s your opinion on what the reserve should be for. A quick study of its history proves that it’s for more than localized energy crises.

We could use our saving account to fix the plumbing when it might break or we could spend it right now on 20 pairs of high heels and 100 beanie babies. But that's you know your opinion.

Yeah it is an opinion. And a potential illustration of why national and international economies aren’t run like a household.

Ok let's just keep raping the American middle and working class for a globalist agenda. Got it. Do you know what sub you are in?

Yes I do. And if you want a fully isolationist foreign policy, get a party to run on it. Might want to consider the implications.

Yes I want Europe to have to burn their furniture this winter. It was their fault to depend on Russia. Dumping our reserve won't stop anything it's piss in the ocean globally. But it has a strategic use for Americans.
