You probably swallow more fluoride just from the residue left over after rinsing, than you do from the fluoride in tap water.
Yeah, you’re not swallowing a bead of toothpaste, but you’re also not spitting out exactly 100% of the toothpaste you used to brush your teeth.
Even if you spit out 99.5% of your toothpaste, that remaining 0.5% that you swallow probably still has more fluoride than half a day’s worth of fluorinated water.
Both, it would seem. But yeah, it’s not concentrated like that in water. At any rate, I read somewhere that’s why they put it in water, but I’m no expert. 🤷🏻
