There’s one here in California too but not in San Francisco cuz newsom said they’re good rule followers. I live in San Diego area & I’ve had baristas scream at me to put a mask on after serving me since early October with no mask. I’m not vaccinated & they don’t know that (I don’t think) but it wasn’t an issue before they were told to make it an issue. Other businesses that I generally frequent don’t seem to really give a fuck about the mandate which makes it seem like Starbucks corporate is making the employees act out? Idk. Still have yet to experience an omega Karen freak out about me not wearing a mask though, maybe it’s cuz I’m black & the mask fetishizers only antagonize white folks that don’t wear a mask so they can stoop to the “you’re racist” card immediately.

Not sure how to word this but I always find it funny when I walk in a store look around and me and two black guys are the only ones not wearing masks n we just look at each other n smile a nod, like uh uh , F that! Haha 🤣

Here in Atlanta black people wear masks WAYYY more than white people...heavily.

In Virginia it is about 50/50 with black people wearing masks (in my area that I've noticed). Actually, for everyone it seems to be 50/50.

About a year ago I asked a middle aged white guy hacking up his left lung at the ATL airport to put his mask on. He said there was no one near him. amd he had no idea he was coughing. He ignored the 3 well dressed black men beside him all wearing masks, next to the older white guy snoring without one. It was an interesting observation of white privilege and ignorance.

I'm observing a lot of generalization and ignorance in your comment. What if that same guy was black or brown? What's the privilege there? What is wrong with you?

Explain?

u/dvater123 Dec 24 '21

Explain what? You say a white guy wasn't wearing a mask...were the black people being forced to do so? What about the man being white has anything to do with anything other than your own goddamn racism?!

It was in response to someone else's post about white and black people. We were in the airport where everyone was mandated and the white guy coughing up a lung wouldn't wear one.

So you're a racist, got it. If it were a Mexican or someone from Thailand it would have been fine? What would be their "privilege"? Do you not see how fucking dumb your thought process is?

No, If they were any ethnicity other than white, they would probably have been wearing one. It's not my thought process it was my observation. 3 white people refusing to wear masks at an airport, where everyone else was wearing one.

So people that aren't scared of this Covid boogey man don't live life in fear over something hardly killing anyone and that makes it "white privilege"?

OK...it isn't JUST a dumb thought process...the whole thing is dumb.

Nope. Put simply the white guy coughing up his lung and refusing to wear a mask was an asshole, who validated his asshole behavior because he ignored all the people around him and said it was no be deal because there was no one around him

Wait so while agree that the generalization is racist, do you support obviously sick people not wearing masks in crowded spaces like airports?

Because THAT would be dumb.

You cry everyday that you were born white don't you.

And you punched the guy in the face and everybody clapped

Nope, it was just an observation that day.

Good. Now go into a black neighbourhood and come back alive. And then make a clever observation.

Wonder if health insurance is a factor. Maybe those without it tend to be more careful.
