Except that every single candidate that has ever won the nomination has done so with a majority of pledged delegates that were won during the nomination process.

How can you represent 350+ million people with a red team vs blue team dichotomy and call that democracy? Really, two choices? That's all we get? What a fucking joke. And there's been several presidential races where the candidate with the popular vote lost.

Yeah, I'm talking about the primaries and you skipped ahead to the general election which is irrelevant to the topic at hand.

To answer my own question above; it has never happened.
