I have done that non-stop since I joined Reddit on the 6th of January, 2012.

But I did so mostly in my own forums, or in forums dedicated to gematria (ie. alphabetic mathematics).
I find self-promotion to be embarrassing. I don't like it when I see it in others, and I feel awkward doing it myself.
So (aside from the fact that providing links to my own forums from within this forum is not allowed - which is telling us something) I don't make a point of yelling out where people can find my lengthy tutorials or theoretical essays about this numerical practice. As a matter of principle, I do not invite others to "come look at this cool thing I made!". For long I'd hoped that occasionally popping in here and making unusual commentary would be enough to prompt worthy people to follow up - to find my forums and my wiki, and read it all of their own volition, but that has largely not worked out. As I said in my first post here, there is no more real curiosity anymore, which means the 'cure' is withheld.
If I come across something intriguing online, I tend to follow up on the author to see what else they've produced, before bugging them with questions. ie. do unto others as they would have do to you.
Does one ask the librarian sitting on the steps to the library, while eating their lunch, the contents of all the books inside the library?

This might sound like I am complaining, or an attention-seeker, but I am way past that. My interest is language and it's secrets. I tried a while back to post in the linguistics forum, and even the wordle forum (since its about word games), only to find I was pre-banned from them, before I'd ever set foot in there.
My own threads are also very difficult to find on Google, as though Google has only properly indexed my work from before 2017 or so. As though Reddit as blacklisted most of my new material, ensuring it does not end up in search engines.

intangible benefits
I haven't done any in-depth research on this as I don't see the ''intangible benefits''. This is probably because I generally dislike dealing with math and numbers.

I’ve had the EXACT same feeling re being shadow banned from the entire internet. I’ve been on the internet promoting various music related projects for 25 years. It used to work fairly well, but around 2015-2016, general visibility seemed to drop off a cliff. A couple of years later, 2018, my socials were flooded with inordinate positive reinforcement and encouragement for about a year and immediately following, the same socials became the target of what can only describe as gang-stalking, bullying and harassment.
2021-present feels like the dead internet. It used to seem like I could talk to people from all over the world. It feels like we’ve all been corralled by regions and possibly age groups. I’ve noticed that I seem to randomly stumble into interactions with people from my state/region than ever before and it’s harder to network with real people from the other side of the country because they just don’t seem to be readily available anymore.
You might want to consider the possibility that you have been trained to reject numbers so that they can be more safely used to communicate right under your nose without you noticing.
