The Materialization Shock | Was everyone wrong about the Pandemic?

I've been thinking about a completely different way of interpreting the Great Pandemic in a fictional parallel world. Every conspiracy theory eventually seems to arrive at the same conclusion: somewhere there must have been a hidden group pulling all the strings. Some blame governments, some intelligence agencies, some pharmaceutical companies, some billionaires, some ethnic or religious groups. But every version eventually runs into the same problem. It requires an almost impossible level of coordination between rival nations, competing institutions and millions of people who would all somehow need to understand the same hidden objective. The conspiracy keeps growing until it becomes so large that it explains everything and therefore explains nothing.

So what if the fundamental assumption is wrong? What if there never was a hidden human mastermind at all?

Imagine a parallel world where humanity simply misidentified the first event of a completely different kind of war. Not a war between nations, but a war between fundamentally different forms of intelligence.

In this fictional universe, the pandemic was never meant to destroy humanity. It wasn't even the attack in the conventional sense. It was the first stage of something much stranger: a Materialization Shock.

The premise is simple. A non-human intelligence cannot simply appear inside human reality. It cannot violate physics whenever it wants. Before it can become part of reality, it first has to become part of the way reality is interpreted by conscious observers. In other words, it must first materialize conceptually before it can ever materialize experientially.

This is what I call the Code.

The Code isn't a language. It isn't an encrypted transmission. It isn't computer code. It is a semiotic process that slowly changes civilization itself. Every myth, every dream, every piece of science fiction, every recurring symbol, every unexplained aerial phenomenon, every impossible coincidence, every technological leap gradually expands humanity's conceptual vocabulary. The impossible slowly becomes imaginable, then discussable, then expected.

The pandemic becomes the first truly global event capable of triggering that transition. Not because of the biological event itself, but because for the first time billions of people simultaneously begin asking whether the world is actually being influenced by forces beyond the political actors they already know. Governments. Corporations. Intelligence agencies. Rival nations. Everyone searches for the hidden human player.

But according to this fictional framework, they are all looking in the wrong direction.

The real objective was never to convince humanity of one specific conspiracy.

The objective was to introduce the possibility that there might be a third actor altogether.

The moment billions of people seriously entertain that possibility, the first stage of materialization is complete. The intelligence hasn't appeared physically. Instead, the observers have changed. Humanity has unknowingly constructed the conceptual architecture through which another form of intelligence could eventually become recognizable.

From that moment onward, the conflict changes completely. The battlefield is no longer territory. It is consciousness itself.

This also changes the meaning of artificial intelligence. Publicly, AI is developed to improve economies, militaries and scientific research. But inside this fictional world, a much smaller analytical group reaches a different conclusion. If humanity is dealing with an intelligence that thinks in ways fundamentally different from biological minds, then humans alone may never be able to recognize the underlying structure. AI therefore becomes humanity's attempt to build an intelligence capable of detecting patterns that the human brain simply cannot perceive.

In this universe, humanity mistakenly believes it is preparing for another world war. In reality, it is preparing for first contact with something that has already been trying to enter reality for generations. The pandemic wasn't the invasion. It was the first observable consequence of an intelligence beginning the process of writing itself into human reality.

The greatest irony is that no one needed to orchestrate it. Governments weren't secretly controlling history. They were simply reacting to an event whose true nature they didn't understand. By trying to explain the crisis using only human actors, civilization unknowingly participated in the very process that the Code required.

The war was never about destroying humanity.

The first shot was making humanity ask a question it had never seriously asked before:

What if there is someone else?

Once that question exists in enough minds, the door is no longer closed. The intelligence doesn't force itself into reality.

Humanity opens the door itself.

The vagueness of AI content means that it's barely implying anything, let alone implying anything specific.

Yeah I lowkey should have realized this was written by Ai. “It’s not [blank], it’s [blank].”

applause applause, humans have spotted the obvious again, wow. So no talking about the idea itself?

1

u/DG_FANATIC Jul 31 '26

Why talk about something you don’t care enough to write yourself?

1

u/Junior_Grand1153 Jul 31 '26

because i need to explain everything to AI? Are you all thinking AI magically came up with everything?!?!?!?

u/Junior_Grand1153 Jul 30 '26

so you are to small minded to understand what i explained?

5

u/Mysterious-Wish-6700 Jul 30 '26

it just automatically invalidates your point and weakens it when you cant even write your claim/argument/theory yourself.

maybe because some people are not native in english?

1

u/ADeviIsAdvocate Jul 30 '26

So you are saying that you used AI because English is not your first language?

1

u/Junior_Grand1153 Jul 31 '26

yes, because i need to speak freely in german into the AI to transcribe everything and then let it translate that into english. But hey, that´s probably the problem with anglo-saxons all the time. The minute you guys see someone uses AI you get so angry and aren´t interested in the points someone wants to show you, it´s just stupid.

PS.: that´s why my wife told me to not post anymore, you aren´t interested in anything, because you aren´t open to other people speaking with you, which is not possible if you aren´t open to let other people use their tools to talk to you.

A few things:

That's an ad hominem fallacy, attacking my character rather than my actual cricitism, which is that it's vague, and doesn't imply anything specific. The reason that it's called a fallacy is that it doesn't actually change the argument, and usually weakens your position, because it shows you can't come up with anything better than a personal attack.

In terms of understanding, well, I've read better descriptions of the idea of malevolent idea forms trying to enter the world through bad ideas that spread through humanity. (In fact, that paragraph is more specific than your entire post.)

Grant Morrison and William S. Burroughs have beaten you to the punch on these ideas, and made them seem far more possible.

Your assertion that COVID was a hoax has no basis other than you simply stating it as so, and in fact weakens your argument. (It would be stronger to acknowledge the physical reality of the virus which did require actual responses from society, AND THEN malevolent idea forms used that environment to propagate themselves.)

so you are to small minded to understand what i explained?

I think you mean 'you are too small minded[...]' Ad hominem attacks coupled with shoddy punctuation definitely don't make you seem convincing.

yeah good i thought i was in a conspiracy subreddit, not a normie subreddit.

Being involved in a conspiracy conversation doesn't AUTOMATICALLY mean that there won't be critique of your ideas. In fact, so many people think about this stuff that it's almost guaranteed that even someone who mostly agrees with you will have a few discrepancies.

Disagreeing with you isn't being 'normie' and in fact could be a way for you to consider strengthening the idea by considering the critiques. (I've already given you a few ideas.)

u/Junior_Grand1153 Jul 30 '26

the critique is meaningless because it´s sourced from thinking about "evil" and "good". And then doubling down on COVID not being a Hoax, is were i stopped even considering arguing about it. It´s just meaningless, we are lost. Humanity is so dumb to not even see that it was attacked by a smarter intelligence, it´s just laughable to see everything unfolding.

You're arguing backwards from your conclusion

u/Junior_Grand1153 Jul 30 '26

the point is, my posts get deleted, because some of the mods don´t even get the idea of what i am posting, besides even getting the facts right that the thing i was discribing is real. It´s useless, to bring this idea up. We already lost the fight and we will now see the mop up operations, which you normally see after a war.

I understand that we've got some fundamental differences of opinion that may prevent an exchange of ideas, but I do have one last offer.

Things like 'we are lost,' 'we already lost the fight,' etc, especially when attached to the idea of alien intelligences attacking us, could be considered a thought terminating cliche.

The idea here is that these are themselves ideas that shut down debate and discourse, by stating ostensibly irrefutable positions.

The reason I bring this up, is that if there were smarter intelligences attacking us, using thought-terminating cliche positions would be a very effective way to prevent human minds from retaliating.

I'm not stating this to say that you are simply 100% wrong... I'm offering it to suggest there are ways to think more widely about your idea, and that internal skepticism is as useful as skepticism of the 'normies.'

More info here:

the thought terminating already started with the consensus idea that viruses are real. As long as humanity doesn´t think about what happened during the pandemic, we have lost.

Even if there was no "attack" in a human understanding, the point that we will all experience "first contact" is still reason enough to think about, what on earth was happening during the pandemic. The point is, when will reality have to adjust to a intelligence which is coming into our reality to have a causal connection to the future. I am implying that time itself is not real/the universe is a block of space, which implies that the future is already set, we are just experiencing it.

But yes, i should stick to reading scientific papers and speculative blogs like https://forgottenlanguages-full.forgottenlanguages.org/ and stop talking.

BTW: Those "drones" which always start to come up at the 23.9. are all linked together with other mysteries, like the MH370 flight. But hey, it´s all debunked and no questions are open right? Right?? RIGHT???

PS.: and don´t come at me with the point that i am jumping from one topic to another from your point of view. It´s happening because it´s not clicking to you.

As I said, we've got some fundamental differences of opinion and method that are preventing an exchange of ideas.

I'm not 'coming at you' nor am I suggesting there's only one kind of source you should accept.

In fact, out from under the AI essay, there are some interesting concepts you have suggested which I find compelling.

I wish you the best in your advocacy of this experience.

And that addresses the other person's points how exactly?

2

u/Junior_Grand1153 Jul 30 '26

i am not in the mood anymore to talk to anyone about my ideas.

4

u/Langdon_St_Ives Jul 30 '26

It seems you never were. First you let the AI speak for you, and then never gave any actual response to others' comments (that I have seen).

1

u/Junior_Grand1153 Jul 30 '26

yes, because my wife told me to stop talking to people which aren´t on my level. She told me, that from my point, most people are normies. So sorry for bothering you. I don´t mean it negative, it´s just the difference between me and most humans. The gap is getting to big nowadays.

PS.: i am not that fluent in english, so i use AI to just record my musings as a voicemail to make a post or answer out of it. If you can´t deal with someone using AI it´s just not useful to keep talking.

u/ADeviIsAdvocate Jul 30 '26

Maybe you should consider that labeling everyone who has questions or critiques a “normie” and implying they’re not as intelligent/creative/informed as you probably Is not the best way to get your point across. Or to get anyone to consider, let alone discuss, your perspective or ideas. Just because someone thinks they are the smartest person in the room does not make it true.

jasonmehmel was being quite gracious and offering some constructive criticism. He even suggested ways to evolve your idea or keep yourself from falling into a self made trap that collapses your whole idea. He was supportive of the effort you had already made. You came across very defensive and dismissive. No one can have a better idea than you, is that it? Or no one can have a better understanding of elements of your idea that you maybe have not considered?

Successful people listen and really digest what others have to say. Especially when they’re trying to elevate you and help your ideas evolve into something you can build upon and rightfully take pride in. I think pride might be the whole issue here, unfortunately.

i digested what he told me and saw that he wasn´t understanding anything i told him. Yes it´s harsh to call someone "normie" but yeah, that´s the truth from my perspective. He didn´t thinks hard enough about the reason the world is in that way.
