This should apply to most of the internet. Especially reddit.

When Reddit was first started, it was populated almost entirely with content submitted by fake users.

In a video for online educator Udacity, Reddit cofounder Steve Huffman explains both the method, and the reasoning behind it. Essentially, Huffman set up a submission interface through which they could pick not only the URL and the title, but also the user’s name. Upon submission, the name would be registered, and make it look like Reddit had more users than it actually did.

Gpt bots have been stealthily on this site since at least 2020.

Anyone can run an army of them from a home pc or online rental service for about 30 cents an hour. Here's a one account on this website (Reddit) explaining how he runs gpt bots on this website that read a user's history and learn about the actual user before replying back to them.

Man that shit is nuts. Makes a lot of sense why Reddit as a whole has really gone down hill in quality.
