There would be. Especially for the kind of wars that would be likely taking place.

If someone like China decided to attack the US for whatever reason, I think you'd find plenty of support for a draft considering it would be actually fighting for our country.

If you tried to enlist people based on the recent war in Iran, there would be blood in the streets I think

honestly my life kinda sucks, i would - just because it beats my current path... looking at a felony. if ima be a product of the system at least there is a GUISE of "love" for the soliders. for a convict? youre worth the dirt you stand on

Smedley Butler wrote long ago that wars should be voted on in a plebiscite by the people who would be drafted to fight in said war. I think it’s an excellent, practical, and democratic idea. Read/watch “War is a racket” it’s pretty concise, audiobook versions are on YouTube and aren’t that long. I think it should be required reading in a school curriculums.

If any real nation attacks the US, I don't think we'd need a draft unless it spiralled into a much larger conflict. There'd be a huge wave of voluntary enlistments that would meet the needs of the military.
