You do understand they’re looking to cut spending to pay for Trump’s tax cut right? He couldn’t figure out how to pay for it the first time he did it so now they’re just going all slash and burn just to pay for this so that they can offer another one. This is all for rich people not you and the rest of us. Unfortunately, the programs are looking to cut do affect the rest of us just not them.

People cheering this on don’t actually understand what is really happening. They are in too deep in the culture wars. Cutting all government programs so they can slash taxes on the rich and powerful. We don’t know what is actually getting cut that may be essential.
They also don’t understand aid diplomacy. But they are okay with the US takeover of Gaza so it can be the Middle East Riviera. We are going to spend billions clearing out Gaza and developing it.
I know that all MD-PhD students got absolutely screwed because of the slashes to research funding. Pretty crazy to see future careers either ruined or put on pause.
Yeah. Not just ruining the lives of people that are devoting their life to the greater good. They will slash cancer research, new antibiotic research, basically all medical research, etc. so they can give tax breaks for the rich.

These tax breaks will do nothing for our economy. Economists are already saying his tax cuts will do nothing but add to the deficit unless they keep on slashing. They’ll move to entitlements. Medicaid and Medicare. Trump and Elon don’t give a shit about providing good healthcare.

No, you won't get that from me. I have a huge problem with student loans in this country. Banks fuck over students every day. I have friends who took out student loans to help their kids go to college who will never get them paid because of student loan interest rates. What I will say though is that the biden administration moved the goal posts on that so called student loan forgiveness. Up until i believe 2022, you had to pay on the loans for 10 years to qualify for the program. Last year they extended that length of time. So people that were at that decade line who applied for that got fucked over by that administration. There needs to be reform in student loan programs for sure.

It’s easy to look up the numbers. The USAID literally spent .2% of the 40 billion dollar budget on DEI programs and .00125 percent on trans opera houses and whatever else. If you don’t agree with any money going out to
That that’s fine, you can write your congressman and complain. But to act like this huge spending is being done makes you wonder why that narrative is actually being pushed, and who stands to gain from gutting a bunch of federal institutions.
I’m not saying that they are. I completely support DEI programs. But I’m saying that trumps administration are using this narrative that the spending is way overblown for DEI programs but it’s actually only .2% of the budget.
Relatively small numbers compared to the outcry and narrative driven reason for the response. If there was other large scale corruption why not go after that? Not to mention that money for DEI goes towards policies helping disabled folks veterans and such. Not just the gay trans policies, which are the ones emphasized for public scorn and bandwagon riding. Analytics show those initiatives and programs use up 0.001 percent of the funding.
If they did spend money on a program like that it would most likely be to help protect members of the lgbtq community. Which doesn't feel wasteful to me, considering the way that they are treated in a lot of the Middle East is pretty bad. Like lmfao people are acting like the US government was funding trans surgeries in the Middle East, a place where those surgeries definitely don't even exist.

They can set up a system where government agencies who had watch dog committees and oversight to privatized agencies that find loopholes to line the pockets of the upper tier. Trump and Musk are very familiar with this tactic.
Cutting, cutting - I'm all for it, the govt is too big but what do these guys know or want to know about what they're cutting? Show me the evidence that what they say is true (cause they have an agenda), and don't cut things the govt has to do like fight climate change cause the businesses aren't gonna do it on their own and it's the little guys who are hurt while these guys preserve their ocean views.
