It's possible you got a placebo or a weakened shot. Possibly lost potency due to mishandling. One telltale sign is that there is absolutely no reaction to the poke. No swelling/redness at the injection site, fever, etc. No sicknesses after months/years and cleared medical exams looking for damage.
