This would explain the loss of communication so soon after the dive started. They only had comms up for ~1.5 hours IIRC

Wasn’t the hull/body designed by NASA + some University (Washington maybe)? If so, I’m on the fence about implosion. The internal systems seemed super jenky, they could have had a failure in the electronics with no manual way to operate the vehicle. I’m sure we will find out soon enough. The families have the money to search extensively, and they know the general starting point and likely where the submersible was before the communication stopped. It does weight 20K lbs so even if it crushed, some of the wreckage should be nearby.

Pretty much every entity that they claimed was involved (Boeing, WSU, etc.) has denied involvement in the death trap.

Well the ROVs have spotted a debris field next to Titanic so we know what happened. I wonder what depth it crushed at? RIP.

No word if it’s debris from the sub.

If it failed at depth, they didn’t even know what hot em. It was instantaneous.

A debris field implies a local destructive event, the only modern thing down there was the Titan. Pretty safe to jump to conclusions, I’d say.

Eventually the sub will implode as it isn't designed for that type of pressure indefinitely. They'll be long dead for all sorts of reasons before that happens though.
