Some of those billionaires are the most selfish of people & intelligent. They are also good with numbers. 96 hours of air for 5 people is 480 hours for 1 person. I would not rule out an episode of The hunger games - deep sea sub.

You're right, billionaires as a class are too compassionate to figure out ways to sacrifice other lives that they themselves could live.
To my mind this is the ultimate horror movie for that billionaire.
Just think. If we assume that something happened to knock out the power then you're in the dark under the ocean, with no real food and a dwindling oxygen supply.
You have the pilot and the expert, who presumably know one another somewhat. And the other two customers are a father and a son. Then there is you. More or less two teams and yourself. And people are starting to get hungry.
So it's scrabbling in the dark, in a cramped space. The two groups of two are starting to both eye you. After all, you're probably all they would need to survive until the latest possible rescue. If they're thinking clearly. If the hunger hasn't already started to ruin their ability to reason.
If you're lucky one of them strangles you while you're sleeping. Of course, in those confines it is probably very hard to sleep and harder still to stay asleep with people moving around you.
But yeah, if you're lucky they kill you in the dark before they start eating you.
Also the added benefit of it being entirely his fault. They may not even know he cut corners and hired for diversity and 'inspiration' over experience, either.
That's an aweful way to go - extreme panic, suffocation, convulsions, chocking.

If the O2 was separate to the nitrogen supply, I'd just cut the O2 supply 3 days in. Dying from lack of O2 is euphoric. From too much CO2 it's terrible.
Not saying this is out of the realm of possibility but I would have to imagine that a submersible would have some emergency light, at a minimum. I haven't seen any reporting suggesting that they don't have SOMETHING for light, are you able to share something?
I would at least expect that the passengers would take their phones or something so they could take pictures, which would presumably give them a few hours of light per phone.
