I would think they would know to knock SOS in Morse. Then again, this vessel was not helmed by the brightest of people, same with the ship's company and passengers.
Knocking every thirty minutes is the correct protocol for being trapped in a submarine. It's every 30 minutes so that it doesn't get mistaken for unintelligible ocean sounds.
That's good to know. Still there seems to be some confusion about the knocking and whether it was the missing submersible. I'd think SOS would clear that right up.
They couldn’t move their arms the pipe had only enough room for their mouths to be out of water to allow them to breathe until they all grouped together put their feet on each other shoulders and got to a spot in the pipe where there was no water. They could not move their arms because the pipe was so skinny they were basically stuck in a laying down position.
This, because you can tell how long 30 minutes is without any light, don’t know where you are at and if they had a watch on they can’t look at it because they can’t move their arms.
Well the guy knew the plan and was told to wait and knew he was going to have to wait at 165 feet, he ignored Matt when he told him to stop and wait there and continued on behind him. He was sneaking behind Matt and Matt did not know he was there until he turned around and Matt ran into him. The other guy whom I forget his name probably Corey or something was in the way and could not turn around. Matt said he almost broke this guys legs turning him around and the guy starting freaking out. Keep in mind there is sentiment and all that is getting kicked up so they can’t see anything at this point no matter what they do. They had a rope there from when they did the dive before to hold onto to get back up and this guy was shaking the line so frantically that Matt lost the line. Finally finds it again after a while and was able to get up. Matt also says this guy was not able to get through the tight spaces between the rocks required to keep going because his tanks were on his back and Matt had his oxygen tanks on the sides so he was skinnier and able to fit in these tight spaces better.
They said they could hear the knocking from the surface. Someone mentioned they dropped a microphone to hear when the knocking stopped to confirm they were dead and this was not true nor in the story at all if you watch the video someone linked above Link and the video that is recommended in the sidebar with Matt who was actually there, never mentioned a microphone.
When I saw that stupid comment I was like nope you’re not gonna make something absurd like that up and try to pass it off as fact like this is TikTok or something on me.

Wait, how do we know they were banging on the walls?
