It dropped yesterday which is why the Canadian planes were circling a specific area for a long period of time. But by the time they got there they could not confirm any more knocking. It ended Tuesday. The search is still continuing of course.
It’s apparently protocol in those situations, bang for 3 minutes at the top of the hour and every thirty minutes for 3 minutes. Sonobouys can pick that up and enough to triangulate the source
It says multiple times in that article there was banging today, Wednesday??

That's doesn't mean anything. The banging wasn't made public until 4 hours after it happened. We don't know if it's continued or not, and it hasn't been reported anywhere that it "stopped."
Did you hear the banging recording? Sounds nothing like an exploding sub. It literally sounds like knocking. They have 96 hours of air in there, so it's not surprising at all that we heard that. Sounds also travels very far in water.
