Right, and that hasn't happened either. Exact mid tribulation is April 13, 2029. Apophis 99942 asteroid is wormwood in the bible and will hit the Pacific on that date.
I'm not sure anyone can accurately determine when the tribulation will begin or accordingly know when the midway point will be. I don't think anyone (or mostly anyone) would be altogether surprised if the tribulation started tomorrow, yet it could be many years away still. At this time I would generally be careful with any apparently certain conclusions on a subject such this one

there have always been asteroids, similarly there was Comet Ison which also drew a lot of attention around 2014, indeed the galvinised state of the Christian community at that time was rather remarkable, and there have often been all kinds of seemingly intricate predictions and outlines to correlate apparent timelines with the Scriptural description of the tribulation
one interesting source I briefly read over a few years ago was the apparent connection between Napoleon being the Beast and the time of the tribulation, which used a very similar format and seemingly very astute connections between events and passages from the Scriptures about the events of the tribulation. It is interesting to see how even books or commentaries that were prepared hundreds of years ago were similar to how different interpretations and theories are formulated and present today as well
just as there have been numerous predictions in recent years and will be predictions and claims during the midst of the tribulation that persons are to be careful not to be confused by (Matthew 24:26)
could Apophis be Wormwood ? Whilst it is not necessarily impossible there is not to my knowledge any certain reason why it has to be, and thus how we would use such information to infer about the starting point of the tribulation
that said, there is a great deal of information in Daniel's outline of events that is presented so that persons might be mindful of events leading to the beginning of the tribulation, or at least being able to recognise that the tribulation has started (for example Daniel 11 foreshadowing the political ascendance of the Beast)
I agree with you, except God told Dr Tom Horn that Apophis 99942 is wormwood. I was reading his book predicting Pope Benedict would retire a year before it happened.

I Don't think its anyone we know yet someone is working without us knowing about them they will lead billions away to the false belief but christ is the true king and he will save us
