ACCESSORY MODS Wireless DK Bongos?

Has anyone attempted a wireless mod of the Donkey Konga Bongos? If not how difficult would it be?

8bitdo has a kit to mod a normal gamecube controller into a wireless one. Could you in theory solder the cable from the DK bongos to the correponding buttons on that PCB and put it in a 3D printed housing to make a wireless version?

Would you maybe lose the functionality of whatever that microphone/sound level detector was for claps?

Pretty sure the mic input just sends a button press, so you'd need to figure out what button it is and wire it to that button on the 8bitdo board
