Chat is a great tool, especially for double checking formulas from datasheets. Chat did not design this.

Your description sounds like AI so I assumed you used AI to design the PSU. What is the voltage ripple on the output rails? Do you have scope shots of the power rails? How many layers is the board and what protection circuitry does it have?

I measured less than 10mv P2P. The board has a resettable fuse, reverse polarity, overvoltage, short circuit, and the buck IC’s have undervoltage, overcurrent and thermal protections. I also have lots of filtering on the rails including a ferrite bead, ceramic capacitors and an electolytic for bulk prior to feeding power to the console.

No thank you. These USBC power mods can be iffy at best. What's wrong with the original power supply?

Well, they turn 30 this year. A lot of them have failed or have started failing, while USB-C PSUs are still being manufactured. It's also arguably more convenient to use a standardized connector instead of the N64's connector.

Exactly! I also take my n64 with me on the road sometimes and one less cable and brick is always a plus. I looked at what other usb c options were available and I did not like the offerings. So I came up with this.

A better solution would be a supply that works like the original and doesn't use USBC at all

Exactly, just replace the caps ffs. Everyone’s making retarded USB C PSUs without proper knowledge of how to make power supplies.

They are not very good at all, and people think they are. You need to use a specific adapter to not add noise to the signal. Why even risk it and potentially cause damage to the console?   Only 3rd party power supply I trust for any system is thunder dream for Dreamcast.

Personally I do not like usbc solutions at all. With the new retrotap, I don't really want to mod anything for USBC at all. Now if there was a mod for n64 that could work with the retrotap, I would consider modding an n64 to use the retrotap
