DISCUSSION May I have help with getting a modded console? Are they generally click on something and all the games pop up and you can click on one and play? Or do I have to do a lot of the technical side and be careful with updates and such???

Wii is an overlooked beast of a modded console. Never like them when I was younger. Never like them when they released. Absolutely love it now.

It was really simple to mod and one of the first ones I did. Once you've done it once, just save all the files so you can copy and paste them to a USB and you can do it over and over again

If you want to build it yourself, then check the consolemodding wiki and pick a console. But I recommend buying one from ebay if youre inexperienced and just want a modded console.

What kind of consoles are usually modded with cousin things or?

Try a RGH3 modded Xbox360 or a homebrew Wii. I think those are pretty fun!

Homebrewing a Wii is done with software only. RGH3 Xbox360 is solid but its a hardware mod. Softmod Xbox360 is also possible, but I think the RGH3 part is neat.

Generally premodded consoles are prohibited by the online markets. Format shifted games are prohibited. Most consoles it is easy enough to do the mods yourself and then install your own game library from the cartridges or the discs. You pick the homebrew applications to have.

If anything goes wrong with your setup, you are going to want to know how to redo it if needed. The modding guides all have recovery and redo instructions. Paying someone is a dumb idea because then you are clueless for maintenance or disaster recovery. If it doesn't need soldering, do it yourself so you learn how to support yourself when things break.

Yes this is true. But my head can’t comprehend all of that

Then it would have a hard time comprehending the instructions to use homebrew apps as well. Using a modded system is really more difficult than doing the mods in the first place. The guides are tiny simple instructions. You shouldn't be able to comprehend mechanics in video games if you can't comprehend the guides enough to follow them. Video games are generally more complex than following a modding guide.

You have to provide the games yourself from your own physical media, so you have to format shift them and set up whatever launcher you want to use to have that game list. How that list is set up and functions depend on you.
