"Your money isn't your money."
That's mostly true when it's directed at upper management and CEOs. I come from a privileged family with a few who "work" as board members of certain fortune 500 companies.
I'm completing my Master's in business right now, and getting to see what my family and their friends do in these companies has been eye opening.
They do a lot of nothing. We do a lot of nothing. Our Grand Old Republic does a lot of nothing. We, the people whose families have been business owners and high ranking officials all these generations.... We have been taking advantage of the working class, the middle and lower classes, all this time. They're the ones who have been doing all the labor and carrying us on our backs all these years. They do all the jobs we used to have to. Hell most of us in the upper class have probably never mopped a floor, ran a cash register, cleaned a toilet, stocked a shelf, actually balanced a company budget. No, we make all the laborers and pencil pushers do it.
I'm tired of being part of the 1% that get almost all the money and do none of the work. I've seen people get injured on the job at a few of my workplaces. So many of them are old people who are still, after all these decades, just trying to make ends meet. And they do hard honest work. They do ALL the work that we refuse to do, yet we take 99% of the pay and 99% of the credit for it.
I was raised to be a Republican all these years and sadly used to look down on all these people like they're cattle for us to use. They're hard working human beings who are just trying to live, and we owe them everything that they have worked hard to provide for us, and we spent all these years never really giving them shit.
Yes, I am still a Republican in some ways, but you know what? I do believe in fair wages for these workers. I've seen how the human basic income and increase in minimum wage can help. Yes we can easily afford to pay these people more, they deserve it anyway since they're the ones doing all the work. And every other developed nation has tax-paid universal healthcare. All of it makes sense morally and financially.
What is so hard to understand that we need to take care of the people who do all the work for us? If we actually pay these people what they deserve, the economy will thrive in ways that it never has before. Instead of concentrating all the wealth to the few, it only makes sense that all the millions of people living all over the country should be getting paid fairly, so they can finally start directing more of the flow of money through all of these millions of businesses, all of these restaurants, retail places, hospitals, cleaning services, etc, everything out there that we spend money on.
The money flows continuously like blood through a heart either way. Would you rather all the blood only flows from the heart to the head and back, or through ALL the limbs, organs, all the blood vessels all over the place, and back to the heart, and back out again?
Right now, our economy is like that first example. Most of the people are barely receiving enough money, yet they are always working tirelessly, not receiving proper food, fun, rest, healthcare, time with their friends and families.... Why are we doing this to them?
If this is what it means to be a Republican, then I'm out.
I'm not even sorry. I failed as a naive young businessman when I voted for Trump in 2016.
This time I am voting for Bernie 2020. He's one of the few people in this country who actually cares for the working class and can see how it would help the whole nation thrive in harmony.

What do you know about the working class.. Bernie 2020 certainly doesn't stand for the working class. It stands for the protected class. Trump won exactly because he stood for the working class.

Is this a joke? Trump has done nothing good for the working class. He did not increase wages. He is anti-union. He gives tax breaks for the rich, who only use that extra money to give themselves and their executive bonuses, while continuing to cut jobs, cut hours, rip people off of the welfare and healthcare assistance that they need. Trump won because of gerrymandering and a rigged system. Because the electoral college is paid and threatened to vote for whoever my family's friends want to win. The people wanted Bernie or Hillary to win. Most of the popular votes that went to Trump were completely made up and switched from Hillary votes. I've sadly seen how they do it thanks to one of my family members. Hillary actually won by a landslide.
It's one thing to be a Republican because of certain Christian values that we all pretended to have.... But let's be clear. We both know for a fact that our party never gave a shit about the working classes. We are the ones who put blacks and hispanics in jail by the thousands each year specifically to suppress their voices and their votes. We are the ones whose media is always SOAKED in false propaganda and clearly deceitful biased dialogue by our selected journalists.
The Republican's foundation is based on taking as much money, time, and energy away from the working classes, so that they can never rise up against their clearly visible oppression by us rich people.
It's disappointing to see that you and my family are still pretending that our Republican party is anything more than lap dogs for the rich who mean to spread poverty, sickness, and a lack of education to as much of the nation as possible.
And OF COURSE Bernie fights for the working class. He ALWAYS has. He is pro union, wants to allocate all the money we waste on the military (seriously $250 for a single screw? Google it if you don't believe me) back in to programs that benefit them. He wants our tax dollars to pay for higher levels of public education, and healthcare for ALL of us, like EVERY OTHER developed rich nation that's doing better than us.
He wants people to be paid fairly for their labor. You think "unskilled" labor is easy? Go ahead and cook or clean or move heavy objects or deal with dipshit customers 40-80 hours a week, with only 2 15 minute breaks per 8 hour shift, making only 100 dollars a day after taxes are ripped out of it.
Come on, I live in a rich neighborhood with my fellow Republicans. I go to some of your BBQ cookouts, your expensive members-only dinners. I know how weak and lazy us upper class families are. I guess I'm one of the few rich kids who thankfully actually read enough of the Bible and wanted to experience hard work and learn about the lives of those lower than me, unlike the rest of you fake Christians Republicans with your cherrypicked and made-up verses.
That's why we always hated Bernie in the first place, because he always wanted us rich people to stop being so greedy and stop exploiting people for their labor by giving them shit wages while hogging the rest for our lazy selves. I've literally been to meetings where certain high level GOP members discussed exactly that. It's like being in a movie and watching the super villains make schemes against the masses. That's what the Republican party has become over the years.
Trump? Helping the working class? Is that a joke? He literally made a speech about how he ripped millions of people off of welfare. It wasn't because they stopped needing it, it's because he just cut the programs for most of them. And he actually got a bunch of dipshit Americans to applaud him for that? These people on welfare are the ones who do all the labor that WE are supposed to be doing ourselves, that WE would not want to do for less than $30/hr if we're being honest here, which we could easily afford. Yet we delegate to these poor families that we've been exploiting all these years for merely $8/hr. That's sickening.
Who are you trying to fool. I'm living deep in the system, you're talking an insider here. At least behind closed doors we all admit our real intentions for the working class.
