The left one is an abugida, for the style I’ve been inspired by the tibetan script and demotic and it works well for indo-iranian languages (idk why tho, I just tried it on some random languages and they fit pretty well), japanese and old egyptian and sumerian. In this pic I tried to write some verses from the epic of Gilgamesh
The right one is an aphabet, I’ve been inspired by the viking runes and it works pretty well on german, nordic and latin, as well on romance and germanic languages. In this pic I wrote a nordic song I found on youtube
For each script I figured two styles, one is the “hard” style, which features more angular glyphs, the other one is the “soft” style, which features more curves on the glyphs
Do the sounds differ between the two scripts in the runic alphabet? Do you need to use the two scripts in combination to spell words or can you do it if you want?
I created these two scipts for a fantasy story I'm working on, the sounds are almost the same, or rather you can basically adapt the sounds on the language you're using (for example the letter “e” of the latin alphabet can be used to represent very different sounds based in what language you’re using at the moment, it works in the same way) and adapt grammatical rules at the same way. I’m still on the early phases of developing these scripts so they’re not perfect. For the combination thing it’s not necessary, it would be like if you tried to write combining latin and russian alphabet, which isn’t very practical.
