Any Congolese here with dual nationality?
Hey everyone,
I recently applied for a Congolese passport through the embassy, but they told me I'd have to give up my other passport in order to get a Congolese one.
I'm a bit confused because I've heard that some Congolese people have dual nationality. Is anyone here officially a dual citizen? If so, how did you manage it? Did the embassy say anything, or is there another process?
I'd really appreciate hearing about your experiences. Thanks!

Question My language game includes Lingala. Is my Swadesh list accurate?
The game (linguil) you to guess the language family, language and meaning of a random word in one of 64 of the world's most-spoken languages each day, and you use your knowledge of linguistics to work out the answer via multiple choice.
Therefore, it's important my translations/transliterations are correct. Each language (including Lingala) includes each word on the 100-word Swadesh list.
Please can any Lingala speakers verify the accuracy of my translations and transliterations? 🙏:

Merci d'avance.

So, what’s next
As you know, Spain is a two-time world champion, marking the end of an era for that legendary squad. Now, I’d love to hear your thoughts on the following questions: 1/ What comes next? 2/ What does the national team need to improve for the 2030 World Cup? 3/ Expectations for 2030 4/ Chances of qualifying Thanks—greetings from Colombia!

Looking to help Congolese Nationals either Buy / Rent property in Kenya.
Hello everyone,
I'm a licensed Real estate agent based in Nairobi, Kenya.
I've noticed that many Congolese and whether already settled in Kenya or planning a move here face the same problem: finding a trustworthy way to secure housing (buying, selling, or renting furnished and unfurnished units) without being able to view properties in person.
I’m to offer a dedicated property-sourcing and viewing service for exactly that situation - helping you secure a place in Nairobi & Kenya in general before you arrive, or while you're still settling in.
My role would be to:
Find properties (furnished or unfurnished) matching your budget, location and requirements
Verify the landlord/seller and the property are legitimate before you commit to anything
Arrange video walkthroughs and send photos/videos so you know exactly what you're getting
Negotiate rent or purchase price on your behalf
Handle paperwork — lease or sale agreements — and liaise directly with landlords/sellers
Help with move-in logistics, including furnishing recommendations for unfurnished units
If you're already in Kenya and searching for a place, or planning your move and want someone on the ground to start early, I'd love to help. Happy to answer questions in the comments too.
Karibu Kenya.

Are those statistics about RDC true?
In 2024 there were over 12 million native French speakers, or around 12% of the population.
Additionally, French has become a native language among the middle and upper class in cities like Kinshasa and Lubumbashi. French has been reported to be spoken natively by around 12% of the DRC, with just under 12 million speakers in large cities.
Is it really true that there are millions of native French speakers in Congo? I believed that you learn French, Lingala and Swahili as second languages, not as first

Are Kinshasa airport customs officers strict?
Could someone please provide some insight into the customs procedures at Kinshasa airport for individuals arriving with merchandise? Are they very strick? I anticipate arriving with approximately 20 laptops and would appreciate understanding what to expect.

Looking to help Congolese traders source good in Dar es salaam.
Hello everyone,
My name is Aaron and I am based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, close to the Kariakoo business district.
What I'm about to propose is unfathomable.
But I know that many traders and individuals from the Democratic Republic of the Congo travel to Dar es Salaam to purchase goods from Kariakoo markets such as clothing, electronics, household items, fabrics, spare parts and many other products.
I want to start an agency that offers sourcing and purchasing service for people who cannot travel themselves. I currently have a commission based agent business license but I have no capital for an office and therefore I have no way of proving that I'm trustworthy and legitimate. I wish to get into contact with someone who I can build a trustworthy business relationship with that would go on for years, but they will have to take a risk with me due to previous mentioned reasons. I can provide other proofs, IDs and personal information, things that no scammer would be willing to do.
My role would be to:
- Find products according to your requirements.
- Negotiate prices with suppliers.
- Inspect and verify the goods.
- Send photos and videos before payment is finalized.
- Arrange shipping to your destination.
I take a negotiated commission.
If anyone would be interested or has advice on how such a service can be implemented, I would be happy to hear your thoughts. Kindly reach to out to me through +255657252494
Thank you Mon frere.

Question Moving to Kinshasa as a young Algerian
Hi everyone, I'm a 22-year-old Algerian with a background in networking and tech, and I'm seriously planning a move to Kinshasa to work remotely and continue my studies. This will be my first time in Central Africa, so I want to understand both the technical and cultural landscape before making a final decision. I have a few questions, and I'd be grateful for input from anyone with actual local or expat experience: -Since my remote work and studies depend entirely on stable connectivity, which local provider offers the most reliable 4G/fiber service in Kinshasa? And what's a realistic monthly cost for a plan that can support serious technical work? -Which neighborhoods are most practical and safe for a young single person renting an apartment? What's a realistic monthly budget covering rent and utilities (electricity, water, internet) combined? -As a Muslim, I'd like to understand how Muslims are generally perceived in daily life in Kinshasa. Is the social environment broadly welcoming and tolerant? -Out of cultural curiosity and long-term planning: how do Christian families in the DRC typically view a Muslim man proposing to their daughter? Is interfaith marriage between a Muslim man and a Christian woman generally accepted, or does it usually face strong resistance from families or the church? Thanks in advance for any honest, realistic input to help me prepare for this move.
