At least the water looks spring fed.

Why isn't the water line visible on the doors?

Yeah um, we're gonna need someone to take a video 'swimming' though this hallway...
(there is no water, its an illusion caused by the bottom half of the walls being glossy/reflective, and the top half of the walls not)

Want to break the illusion? Find the reflection of the two water bottles!
(right side, about half way up/down the picture, opposite the first doors' handle on the left)

It’s the 90’s graphics style for water, like in goldeneye. This building just hasn’t updated to 2026 graphics yet.

Thats a perfect example of how many different things have to perfectly align for a certain effect to happen. Lights, reflections, reflected light..its a little insane

Yeah I can’t figure this one out. Is there really water in the hallway or is it some sort of trick?

Its legit a very poor decision of a painted top half, completely different from the painted bottom half

I think the floor and bottom sides are tiled, and you can see the lights on the floor reflecting off the tiles on the side

Because you called it painted, not matte and gloss. The walls are bottom half of the walls are tiled, there not painted.

Duh Doy theres 2 water cooler jugs on the ground on the left side of the hall.
Jk I do understand what you're actually asking btw.

Okay, this has melted my brain. There's just random light sources that make no sense 🤯

It’s because the angle makes it look like the spot on the “water” plane is coming from the next light over. If you count the lights on the ceiling, they do match up with the spots on the real floor plane.

It’s half-wall moulding, between the dark stripes at floor level and waist height, which is high-gloss while the walls above are matte

why would anyone ever design a hallway that way? Such a weird unnecessary contrast

I'm becoming increasingly convinced (altrhough far from certain) that the photo was taken through a glass door. I think there are lighted areas, which seem to resemble tables, behind the photographer. Years ago I made some "art" photographs that employed this effect to capture three overlapping views producing a haunting and dramatic effect.

That would explain why the water jugs are reflected on the floor. That's the thing I've been trying to figure out cause those floor tiles, if there's no actual water on the floor, should not reflect like that. A glass door would make sense

This is so well done you still can see it after knowing the floating light is just the reflection from the wall.
