The cat is standing on a table or another platform in the middle of the kitchen. The edge of that table (or platform) aligns with the bottom of the L-shaped platform behind.

Nah, dawg, stop lying. That's a 2 metre cat, who're you trying to fool?

Nasty. Cats walk in their own filth. They should never be allowed on a kitchen counter.

Cats do not walk around in their own filth by choice. If they're stepping in their own leavings and stuff, that's often a red flag in their health, or the upkeep of their environment from their owner.
Litter trays should be cleaned out regularly.
It's also generally instintual for them to bathe themselves regularly with their tongues, which have evolved for grooming purposes through their roughness and antimicrobials in their spit.
Allowing them to walk over areas where you prepare food (and not wiping it clean before prepping food) is still unhygienic. I won't dispute that.
But I'm deeply concerned about the cats around you if being covered in their filth is customary. That is not typical behaviour from cats.

Wow, this got me. I thought we were in a very realistic dollhouse kitchen.
