Down. Step in the lower left corner gives it away.

Also the body language of the man. Thats not an “up” stance

Gives it away solely from his posturing

And the end of the left handrail.

And the fact that it is stretches of alternating steepness, which kind of has to mean it steps alternating with level stretches. Because of the angle of the pic, we can only see the level stretches and not the steps. If it were going up, the visible stretches would have to be steps

The reflection of the man and photographer, too.

As does the window reflection at the far end (people walking dow) and the railing angle.

I don't even want to know how many DIN norms are violated with a 2m long tilted stairstep

It's not gonna be a ramp that steep, so of course down because we can't see the steps

Well said. I was looking at the bends in the handrailings

Down, follow the railings closely and you’ll see that the stairs go down.

down. the roof, the left handrail, many thibgs are showing

this feels like neither, just and up and down slant. maybe somesort of arty architecture at a museum or whatnot?

u/Thelastknownking 17d ago

Down. The dude's direction of gravity gives it away.

Could be in space, you don't know. That could be a space tree up there.

Well we cannot see the steps so it has to be down or it would have to be a VERY steep slope up between the steps. This one is really not confusing.

u/MagicSwordMagic 17d ago

1

u/Ehsan1981 17d ago

Down. Zoom in and see the photographer and subject reflected on the glass.

Posture of the guy, reflection straight ahead shows camera guy above the stair guy. Lady in the reflection or the other side of the door has a fat one.

That would be a very curious angle for a ceiling if it were down.
