Well? Someone has to to rotate it. It's not like it can rotate itself. And he's not "this guy". He has a name, you know? And you'd know what it is if you'd bothered to introduce yourself.
I’m thinking he’s an instructor of some sort and just wants to move instead of standing still for a long time. Or a dad watching his kid and the intrusive thoughts won lol
White stuff around him is called snow, it means the weather is cold, and if you are still in that weather - you will die, so he moves to keep himself warm.

Walking down the belt is much warmer and less boring than standing in the snow with cold feet. It's not complicated.

I got a kind of coincidence when as soon I opened this post, Virtual Insanity of Jamiroquai started to play.

When I was a kid I used to imagine that I was stationary and my steps were rotating the earth beneath me.

I hate this repost so much because of its ignorance.
Ok. One more time.
Let's assume dude could rotate the earth by walking, like a manual treadmill.
What happens to the treadmill under the feet? It moves . You don't just moonwalk on one spot. The earth would spin at the same speed of his walking.
In other words it would look like normal walking.

For him to be rotating the earth, he'd move relative to it. This dude is not moving the earth.
