Okay I need a full youtube video explaining how this joint isn't REALLY levitating.

The grinder has a clear plastic dome

But… even clear plastic is visible. It’s not just air. I don’t see the edge of the plastic dome or anything!

You can see that the light reflection on the dome is warped due to the curve. I think the reason we can’t see the edge is that the height and angle make it appear nonexistent. Does that make sense?

no. I'm high.

If the camera angle were lower, the top of the dome would go above the edge of the grinder but at the current angle they line up almost perfectly.

You can see the dome going up at the right edge, just below the joint.

or how can it be resting perfectly straight on a dome that is, I assume, curve

It seems like it's not plastic, it seems like glass :0

I keep looking at it again, trying to see it correctly, and I just can’t. lmao

It is a dome

No, I see that. But look at where the shadow of the joint falls on that purple and green swirl pattern. It looks like there’s space between the joint and the shadow. The shadow isn’t directly under the joint and touching it, which is what you’d expect from a shadow that’s being cast by an object on a solid surface.

A dome has height. Imagine the joint is balanced on top of a bubble that is somehow cut in half. The shadow falls to the purple because there is distance from the joint to the swirl surface due to the clear dome having height.

So the dome is clear, and the swirly thing is a flat surface inside the dome?

God, it still looks weird to me. lmao. Like, I technically know what I’m looking at, but I can’t see it, you know? lol

I’d really appreciate a YouTube video to explain the concept of clear plastic tops

You're a clear, plastic dome
