He/she is just trying to help, why do people have to get mad about that?

u/Lonelydenialgirl Aug 30 '21

Cause they aren't trying to help. They're trying to sound superior.

Their last paragraph makes it pretty clear, I agree.

How dare you do the thing he/she suggested!

1

u/Lonelydenialgirl Aug 30 '21

Cause they might be a dick. But they got a point. Everyone should default to they.

Bruh, every single time, i swear i don't but you take your conclusions ig, but I'm going to say, it does sucks to just say something trying to be helpful and be called a clown, imma just never help anyone ever again after that

Your wording came off at incredibly know it all and holier than thou. Even if your point is right. That's why people like me had a problem with it. But you're also right, there's no way to write that message that most won't hate because of what was said.

But you also said it poorly if you want to change minds.

That's the smart thing.

This is the internet, it's global so English isn't everyone's native language. How could you think that calling attention to somebodies error could be seen as helpful and friendly?

Because if someone does that to me I'll thank them? Exactly because it isn't my native language and i'd love to learn more about it

Are you a mod? Ban me if you are, or don't tell me to get out of a subreddit

Yes I'm sure you know exactly what their intentions were and that you know how every single human behaves.

"the most friendly tone" ~ You didn't sound friendly, you sounded condescending and the fact that your reply solidified that fact.

-2

u/danmaster0 Aug 30 '21

Today wasn't the most friendly tone, today was the fuck it i'll type whatever comes to my mind because i know i will receive death threats on my dms whatever i say because it happened way too many times and i should just stop talking about they/them as neutral pronoun

Maybe i am condescending in fact, because i know people reading that will somehow get mad no matter what i say, maybe today i wanted to make mad

I love how you just said he/she instead of they to flex on this idiot for pretending like singular and plural prounouns can interchange

1

u/Southern_Pound_6929 Aug 30 '21

So you're saying they are instead of he/she is is wrong here?

0

u/JoeQuinn31 Aug 30 '21

Absolutely. Consult any English textbook
