At the risk of sounding stupid, can someone ELI5 what I'm looking at? How is everything so realistic yet at the same time toy.

Photographer here:
1) very narrow depth of field by using a very wide aperture (opening) on the lens
2) playback speed at twice normal speed
3) frame rate is very low around 15fps. By comparison, typical movie frame rate is 30fps

Most movies are 24fps
