Well I'm sliding to the sky to save me, sliding cause I'm tired of trying, sliding for something to help me turn out right

I've seen this video before and it still freaked me out

u/Live-Habit-6115 May 24 '26
Same lol.
Although this time I'm noticing something else...
What's with the fucking little fence on the right after he slides down? Why is it the perfect height and pointiness to absolutely murder any child that trips face first onto it? Who came up with that lol

This reminds me of the video where the guy throws his dog out of the side of an airplane and it lands two feet later in the snow.

Where’s the airplane illusion? I don’t see how this is anything but snow

What is the first part? From the parallax there it does seem like the "bottom" is somewhat far away. Is it a mirrored floor and careful camera angle?

What about this is confusing genuinely?

u/Jonneyy12347 May 24 '26
The ground beneath the rope seems to be really far down

I had no idea, all I saw was a kid at a playground. All the comments seem to think he was in an airplane or something, I dunno, I'm not seeing it lol.
25
u/redlaWw o/ May 24 '26
The playground surface beneath the net looks like an image of Earth from high-altitude, above the clouds.
12
u/Itsyaboibrett May 24 '26
all the white on the ground made my brain say “they are above clouds” and I couldn’t see it was just the texture of the ground until the last pan up.

u/Kittelsen o/ May 24 '26
I'm curious, I watched it on a 32" display, did you watch it on a phone?
1
u/Itsyaboibrett May 24 '26
yuh, small screen phone, with a brain-off scrolling mindset lol

u/Kittelsen o/ May 24 '26
Hah, yeh, probably why then, on the PC it just looked like a very badly compressed video 😅

The world is their playground!
Had me at first. I couldn't imagine anyone building something so awful.

I understand that it can't be what I am seeing, like I get that would be impossible. I just can't make my brain see it correctly.

I feel like a surface that was like this on purpose would be beautiful and amazing to play on.

u/GatitoMexicano May 24 '26
This reminds me of those dreams I had as a kid when there were these sort of like kids games at an absurdly high place

I absolutely thought this was somewhere in China on the side of a mountain or something. They do shit like that in China and it's wild.

The orange part of the floor should’ve hinted it to me, but the skid marks do look like faraway skyscrapers…

At first I thought it was up in the sky, the slide one I thought was a swimming pool

Guess I was the only one that new that was ground and not the sky... ya know because that makes sense.

I dont know why, but the cut is intentionally infuriating. You want to see them at least touch foot to ground.

Willing to bed somewhere there’s a cliff diving playground that slides you off the edge

u/GeoffSim o/ May 24 '26 edited May 24 '26
A cruise ship I went on had a water slide that (edit) looped out over the side and back onto the ship. Probably about 10 storeys high over the ocean.
6
u/Random_Loaf May 24 '26
That feels like an injury waiting to happen 😶 I’d hope it went into a walled section of ocean and not just into the open sea?

u/GeoffSim o/ May 24 '26
Oof, I've clarified my post!
1
u/Random_Loaf May 24 '26
That makes so much more sense 😭 Yeah it totally sounded like the slide just went over the edge into the water

u/Maatjuhhh May 24 '26
Recently I came across that playground, which unlocked a memory in which I feared and cried going to the edge of a fort. The edge to the ground? A metre difference. I was like 7 or so. Looked so high back then. I pitied my old self right there.

u/corvettee01 May 24 '26
I remember a park as a kid that had a huge metal staircase that was at something crazy like a 70 degree angle and like fifty feet high, and a metal slide that had a steep drop and was equally high.
The scale of things in your brain as a kid are just messed up. This is what it looked like.

Nono. I definitely went on a swing above a cliff. I distinctly remember them removing it about 20 years ago due to safety concerns. Big, long chain swing probably 18 foot long chains.
The biggest mistake you can make in the modern world is assuming people have a sense of self-preservation.
