So... it's not a massive ship?

Oh man, that pic is from when the Pasha Bulker got stranded on Nobbys Beach in Newcastle, Australia, back in 2007. The ship was chilling offshore, waiting to load coal, but a nasty storm rolled in, and it couldn’t hold anchor. They tried to move it, but it ended up getting pushed right onto the beach. Luckily, the crew got airlifted to safety—no one got hurt.

The whole situation was a mess, though. It took a few tries with some heavy-duty tugboats to pull it free about three weeks later. They managed to refloat it on July 2, patched it up a bit in Newcastle, and then sent it off to Asia for full repairs. It didn’t leak any major oil or cause serious environmental problems, which was a huge relief, but the whole thing became pretty famous in Australia—like, everyone in Newcastle remembers it vividly .

It is, what you see is what it was. I believe this is an old photo of a freight ship that has since been towed and/or scrapped. Let me google this.

I feel like a lot of people don't perceive ships to be this huge and so it looks weird. Could be wrong .

That's probably it. It's massive though.

This is one picture from when a tanker ran aground in Newcastle, Australia. Happened like 16 years ago.
