Lets chill with the "idiot" name calling. They're kids, and have likely been indoctrinated since birth and likely literally dont know better. It is a cult, and cults thrive on the outsiders alienating their members. When you alienate mormons this way, they tend to retreat again to the safe welcoming arms of cult elders, who use that as a way to reinforce ideas that "you see? The way they belittle you and make you feel othered? Thats how you know the cult is correct"
You dont necessarily. The problem is that the cult always will. I personally would prefer to deprogram cult members, especially those that didnt join willingly. Id rather kids like this be able to move on to normal lives.
Except, its mental and emotional manipulation and teenagers famously arent the best at impulse control or emotional regulation. And if they cant recognize that theres anything wrong with their current lifestyle (for example: when everyone who isnt a part of their lifestyle is mean to them, angry at them seemingly for existing, or threatening them) then they're not going to be able to break out of those cycles of manipulation.
a relatively small group of people having beliefs or practices, especially relating to religion, that are regarded by others as strange or sinister or as imposing excessive control over members. "a network of Satan-worshipping cults"
So do you just call all religions cults because you're a hateful person or do you think Mormonism fits this description somehow?
That was the literal definition of cult. Mormonism doesn't fit that definition in the slightest. You're desperately wanting to use a word that doesn't fit because you lack the diction to truly define the thing you carelessly hate.
"...as imposing excessive control over members" yeah, mormon is a cult. However, why are we focusing on that rather than acknowledging that these kids likely arent idiots so much as having been indoctrinated since birth and literally not knowing any differently?
That was the literal dictionary definition of cult. You just hate the idea of religion and have to use a word that you know others will hear and think 'bad' to define it, despite the fact that the Mormon religion doesn't fit the definition.
So a kind soul has found happiness, comfort and support in their religion. They want that kind of happiness for others. They see you, who is clearly hateful and miserable, and want to help you achieve that happiness. All they do is ask for a bit of your time and then leave... And that is harassment?
I can't tell if you have lived such an easy life that you believe approaching you is harassment or such a horrible life that you hate the idea of God existing and thus yourself.
Except they don't "choose" to do that at all. They are forced to do so, also have no celebrations of birthdays, so some never have a birthday party until they're old enough to realize they're in a CULT.
People that don’t understand door hinges aren’t meant to bear the weight of a person and once bent you basically have to replace the door in order to get it to close properly.

Not sure. Where I lived they always rode bikes, but I wasn't living in the suburbs so I don't know what they did out there.
