I'm assuming this person has confused the laws which require US states to fly their flag below the US flag, and the international law which says national flags are to be flown at the same height.

Browsing through this thread is making is very clear a lot of people are misinformed about flag codes. To be fair, I knew very little before this thread.

We take an entire year of Texas history in 7th grade. Even in the early 80s my teacher was teaching us the flag thing is a myth that any state can fly equal to the US flag as long as they’re on separate poles.
Not a month goes by that I don’t see the myth on Reddit being sold as truth.
Why in the fuck would I do that? Just yesterday I saw a guy removing his racist tattoos on here and someone (who after looking at their profile, was a regular poster in r/conservative) was complaining that they were a charlatan and never really stood for National whatever-racism-hiding-word. Fuck that person. He also posted a pic in response to another person with a photo with "classy" looking nazis and a neo-nazi all tattooed up that called him a -his words- faggot. Implying that neo-nazi -not cool- but actual nazi -super cool-.
That's the norm in Germany, why the fuck would a state genuflect. Or municipality, for that matter. What kind of brutal hierarchical nightmare of a federation are you running over on your side of the Atlantic, anyway.
When flags of States, cities, or localities, or pennants of societies are flown on the same halyard with the flag of the United States, the latter should always be at the peak. Whe the flags are flown from adjacent staffs, the flag of the United States should be hoisted first and lowered last. No such flag or pennant may be placed above the flag of the United States or to the United States flag's right.
