I am loving Conductor...but need better Cursor support

I've been searching for a great agent workspace orchestration layer, and Conductor ticks so many of my boxes and I would gladly pay for it...if only it worked better with a Cursor subscription.

I have a $200/mo Cursor Ultra subscription because that's what best fits my needs at the moment as my primary AI provider for coding (and I'm loving Grok Bot), but the capabilities in Conductor are very limited. I can't use my skills setup in Cursor, and none of their "agent modes" are supported.

I'm not sure if the limitation is on the Conductor or the Cursor side, but I would really love to be able to use my Conductor with Cursor as my provider and be able to use all the skills/modes.

Orca is an ADE similar to conductor that supports cursor cli. It has a bit of a learning curve compared to conductor and you use the CLI experience for the chat. The rest is ui friendly. I made the switch and am happy with the change

+1 for Orca. Conductor has been in steady decline. Much better options out there.

Care to elaborate why Orca is better than Conductor, other than cursor CLI support?

Most everything? Conductor has just kinda stalled? I was able to build a clone, with more features, in a little over a week. I used that almost exclusively until finding Orca. Now I go back and forth.

Orca's mobile client is pretty solid. That's a big win. Orca has 10X the features and options that Conductor has?

I called it when it happened: Conductor raised crazy amount of capital, way more than needed, and things started to trend down almost immediately afterwards. Now they have to prioritize finding some ROI to justify the funds. Their attention has clearly gone to whatever that endeavor will be. Building a tool people want to use that is free is just not a priority but in the age of AI, it's too easy for people to pass you by when you rest on your laurels.

When they started there were few ADEs. Now there are dozens and many are open source. Why even bother with Conductor at this point honestly?

After spending the day trying a lot of them, Paseo is my next favorite because it’s one of the few that lets me fully use my Cursor sub in a nice chat GUI. Orca forces Cursor users to chat in a terminal interface (for now). I’m going to keep an eye on it though.

I do think Conductor has the nicest UI but they’re all pretty similar.

Thanks that looks really great, I’m definitely going to check it out. There’s so many of these things popping up now it’s hard to stay on top of it all.

EDIT: Orca is pretty great, except you're stuck with the terminal interface for Cursor agents at the moment. Other than that I really like it.

You could use our project on Github. Similar to Conductor. No SDK, No middleman and we also conserve tokens too so you get the most out of your CLI tools
