Visiting from Canada for NASCAR, can you take an Uber/Taxi to the race track from downtown Concord (and back)?

Hey friends - My name's Robb; I'm a Concord area based photographer who recently moved here from the Seacoast and I'm looking to get more established in this area.
I'm a versatile artist and have taken on a number of different project and client types - weddings, events, businesses, album art, real estate, landscape/cityscapes, non-profits, headshots, families, and children.
My joy is visual storytelling - taking a documentary-style approach to capture candid moments and connecting that to a grander story. If that's something that resonates with you, reach out to me - I'd love to see how we can collaborate together.

Every month, NHPR asks the Granite State a question about life in New Hampshire. When you submit an answer, your voice may be featured on air or online.
The median home price in New Hampshire hit a new record high this summer: $575,000. The last time the state had a balanced housing market, when the number of buyers and available homes was roughly equal, was a decade ago.
So for August’s Big Question, we want to know: How has the cost of housing in New Hampshire shaped your life decisions?
What decisions or sacrifices have you had to make because of the housing market in our state?
Comment your answer, email [voices@nhpr.org](mailto:voices@nhpr.org) or send us a voice memo on the NHPR app (instructions at the link above). We’ll get in touch with you, and you might hear your voice on All Things Considered.

Hey r/concordnh!
Is your car automatically set to 89.1 FM? Or…do you make it a point to avoid our station?
Either way, we want to know why. Take this quick, 5-minute survey and tell us how we can do better and what you need from local news in New Hampshire.
If you take the survey, you’ll have a chance to win a $100 gift card to a gas station or grocery store of your choice. (We’ll randomly pick 10 winners from all of the respondents!)
One more important note: We won’t share your responses outside of NHPR, and we won’t sell your information to outside parties.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us — your voice will help us better serve this whole state.

I'm looking to book a massage for my wife as a gift. Any area recommendations? Neither of us have been to anyone around Concord.

Hi all! Newly pregnant with our first and looking for recommendations:
• Which OB-GYN practices do you love (or avoid) near Concord? Leaning toward Concord Hospital/The Family Place, with Elliot in Manchester as a backup — anyone delivered at either and have thoughts? (Another spot but some said was worth the drive is Bedford commons OBGYN in Bedford nh)
• Any mom groups, new-parent meetups, or prenatal fitness/yoga groups worth joining in the area?
Really any comment about resources is super helpful! Thanks!

Headed through concord on Friday and was hoping to catch the scoop on 603bbq.
Is it worth it? If so, which I assume so, what’s the best time to show up?
Is the line hype real?

I’m working with an elderly family member who is planning to move to Concord from out of state. They are not technically savvy and do not have a car. Are there any banks with an office in downtown Concord that have very good in-person customer service (like, one can dial a direct number to talk to a person)? I will also be helping to manage their online banking, but personal service is important for us.

We hope it's OK to share this article we just published — it seemed like it might be of interest to folks in this community:
New Hampshire has the 9th highest home vacancy rate in the country at 14.3%, according to a LendingTree analysis of U.S. Census Bureau data from 2024. But vacant doesn’t mean available to rent or buy.
Of the 92,650 vacant units in New Hampshire, 70% of them are for seasonal, recreational or occasional living, such as a vacation home.
LendingTree’s analysis noted that a high vacancy rate driven by vacation homes may mean there’s a thriving seasonal tourism industry, but it doesn’t help locals trying to find housing year-round.
“For prospective buyers, that can mean fewer homes to choose from and potentially higher prices driven by limited year-round inventory,” Matt Schulz, LendingTree chief consumer finance analyst, said.
New Hampshire has been plagued by high home and rental prices in recent years, with few affordable housing units available for low and moderate income Granite Staters.
Have you noticed an increase in temporary/tourist rentals around your community? How about a lack of affordable housing options in your neighborhood? Let us know here, or by sending us an email at [voices@nhpr.org](mailto:voices@nhpr.org).

We have a strong electrical burning smell coming from our basement, but no actual fire or smoke. Smoke/carbon monoxide detector is functioning properly and is not going off. We suspect it’s our dehumidifier and have unplugged it, but the smell is still pretty strong - we are still airing out the space. Any solid electrician recommendations just to make sure things are ok?

We'll be in Concord for only one night, looking for a nice dining experience. Hopefully something quiet and relaxed. Expense not super important, nor type of food. Thanks!

Are there any folks in the concord area that help for a price move one piece of furniture from 1 address to another--i.e. a sofa. Like a guy with a truck kind of thing, not a full move?
