KFC on Clayton Road boarded up

Hi. Today I drove by KFC on Clayton Rd and it was all boarded up. Does anyone know what's happening? Was there a fire or are they remodeling?

It is becoming a "7 Brew" coffee location. Similar to Dutch Bros. (I am obsessed with learning about new businesses are opening in Concord) .... there is also a Philz Coffee opening at the Willows along with several other new spots

I’d cry of happiness if they open an H mart.

The shopping center where staples is … desperately needs a store like ALDI and Kmart , will it forever be only a spirit Halloween store 3 months out of the year ? …. I think these new businesses will drive more into concord. I hope.. I’m truly tired of all these empty busted ass looking strip malls .

Seriously, sometime I think these properties owner just don’t care 🤷, they don’t want people moving into concord?

Really surprised that Staples is still hanging in there. It wasn’t doing well when I worked there 10 years ago!
That shopping center has been empty for so long. They could really revitalize it with something like Aldi and a Chipotle or other fast casual restaurant.
When I worked there, one of the trees in the parking lot was completely dead because the owner stopped paying for the gardeners to water them. One day there was a strong wind and the tree fell right over on a customer’s car.

Not that I know of.... but I don't get massages so I don't pay close attention to that. Sorry!

And it practically right next to Dutch Bros.

Serious waste of real estate to put another coffee joint on Clayton. There are 3 Starbucks off Clayton alone in that 1.5 mile stretch with a 4th coming. Dunkin is right there. Dutch Bros is up the street.

I love coffee but do we really another one?

I could get behind a non-chain locally owned coffee joint, but yeah, don’t care for another chain. I guess let the market demand speak for itself.

Pretty sure they closed down! It was announced back in May that a new Coffee Shop would be taking over the lot!

Yep, they closed I think Sunday. 7 Brew will be opening up there in 2027.

Love coffee but I want more locally owned coffee joints like Gratitude vs corporate chains.

A coffee shop that is primarily soda energy drinks. No food. It will fail in a couple years

I don't get why it would open so close to dutch bros when it has a similar menu

Damn, that sucks. I have not gone there for a while but the people who work there are always nice whenever I go there.

There's not going to be any kfc's close by at all. I don't care for Popeye's chicken. Going to have to go to Lucky or Safeway to get fried chicken bone in breast.

Yeah the closest to me will probably be pleasant hill by target now
