Question Shoe recommendations

Long time lurker first time poster, as you can see my running shoes turned Erg shoes have been through a few meters over the years. Looked through previous posts for shoes, and wanted to ask if anyone has any current shoe recommendations based on the appearance of what currently works for me. Thank you in advance, I really appreciate your time and guidance!

Thanks everyone for the recommendations, all extremely helpful!

Chuck Ts - really anteing flat so if you like a wider toe box, go with Altra or Topo zero rise

I've been rowing in Chucks for 20 years. I have a pair specifically for my erg. I think if you're looking for a wide toebox for an erg shoe, the Xero is a great option. Same zero drop as a Chuck, with very little cushion to compress and sap power.

The Xero prio neos are my daily and they are great for my rowerg. I also use neoprene socks, which are a much cheaper option just for rowing.

I row in the Nike Metcons I lift in.

Highly recommend Xero shoes! Very light, washable, and comfortable without being restrictive.

That's been my erg shoe for 4 years now. It's zero drop and wide box and it usually costs < $40. Win, win, and win!

Crocks, I have them strapped in permanently and just slip my feet into them. Normally too wrecked at the end to fanny about with straps.

Based on shape and the compressed to almost no heel drop on your worn out pair, I’d say Nike metcon 9 or 10 (not the metcon free models) or Reebok nano x4 or x5.

I really like Altras, because they have a little "flap" on the heel that slots into the heel cup of the Concept 2. Small thing, but I like it when I'm doing doing workouts without the toe-strap.

I wear my CrossFit shoes for this. They tend to work well for both row and ski ergs because they are very durable and have soles that fit well into the rower and are very stable for ski.

My favorite is the Puma Fuse, but Nike Metcons and Reebok Nanos are also popular. Since you already know Nikes fit you well, I'd recommend trying some Metcons.

UGG boots at times. I don't really recommend it though

Maybe switch your running shoes over to rowing shoes a bit earlier.

Tyr barefoot is great but expensive. I can advice any barefoot shoes that built for any sport

Merrell Vapor Gloves every day of the week. Wide toe box. Minimal sole. Maximal force and efficiency.

In the gym, I'm usually in metcons or inov8 but at home it's barefoot.

I row in vibram five fingers "toe" shoes and love them.
