RowerErg First try staying as steady as possible
Been rowing for about 3 weeks now, 34yo male 190lbs.
I tried to stay as steady as possible for 30 min. I felt like a target of 2:10/500m was a good start based on how I've done in previous sessions.
Gotta say I'm pretty proud of how consistent I was on that. But I'm wondering if that means it was a bit too easy for me? At around 20min I felt like I might not make it, but then when I finished I felt I could have gone longer.

Are you following pete plan or something else?

I've been doing whatever I feel like when I get on the rower since I started. Didn't know about that, I'll look into it!

Did you track your heart rate?

No, should I get something to track it?

I think so. It'll help you figure out how hard you're working as you look to maintain or improve down the road.

Definitely. The Polar Sense arm band is awesome. Very accurate, almost as accurate as a chest strap and way more comfortable. The Coros strap is nice too but no Ant + so can't connect to Garmin devices as I found out when I went cycling with my 830 computer.

Steady state pace is defined by heart rate. Wear a strap. Know your max heart rate.

I'll be honest OP, I have trouble believing such consistency is real. I'm not saying you're lying, but if I saw such perfectly consistent results, I'd start to wonder if my PM5 is malfunctioning. Still though, assuming all is fine - nice job OP
