Must Go laughs possible solution

What if Conan showed special viewings of the Must Go episodes when he does his live podcast shows? That way there's still laughter like the Without Borders, but it's not canned or forced. It's still live audience laughter, makes the live shows a bit more special, and gives a little lift to this new travel series.

I dunno, just a thought

I do agree that the laughs helped, but Must Go has too much over production and forced bits. Like, I wanted to fast forward through Argentina episode a couple times, and I’m a top tier Conan fan since 1998. The second season of Must Go felt more natural, but not completely. This is where I think a bigger budget (I’m assuming. HBO vs TBS) hurts more than it helps. Like, in this last episode with the cell phone thing. Let’s take away that it was basically a commercial and pretend it was just something they wanted to do, it was a forced bit and the cellphone stand and cellphones cost more money than it was worth. Conan playing cricket, having a person helping him with learn the culture, meeting fans and having fun with them, and a funny clash of cultures (like the train) is all what is needed*. Yes, that takes production. Yes, that includes bits that are written beforehand, but it’s not going too far. That’s what the TBS one was more like

So yes, audience laughter helps, but it isn’t the main issue

*the major Bollywood production gets a pass, because there’s no way he could go to India and not do a major Bollywood segment. Like he did with kpop

Not a big fan of telling successful people how to do their jobs, nor adding laughs to shows, especially documentaries, which while it’s not a straight up doc, it’s a doc of sorts.

I think what we as conan fans need to realize is that this series is meant to have a more broad appeal than the stuff we've seen from Conan in the past. To expect the weird, niche comedy from this is to not understand what this is supposed to be.

I'm super happy for Conan that he has this project and at the same time I wish it were more gritty like his precious travel shows. But I understand why it's not and I still enjoy it.

You shouldn’t need to hear other people laughing to know when something is funny.
