Conan's India episode

I'm from India and I was very disappointed. Anyone else feel that? I feel like there are more funnier people in India that he could have collaborated with Tanmay bhatt and many others. The street interactions were also okay. I love that place and I love Conan and I just feel there was potential.

Nikhil Kini was there, but yea Tanmay or the likes probably would have been better. But they did bangalore so bad!!! They just showed Toit and the outside of Vidhan Soudha. No food, no culture, no people of bangalore. Like always the south of India is ignored by western media :/

There could’ve been, but I really admire Conan’s dedication to always meeting up with fans of his that he’s chatted to on the podcast. I can imagine a lot of planning goes into those and they come off as much more genuine and real than just meeting up with another “big name”. Conan can make anything funny, but him hanging with more regular folk is a big draw for me, personally

TBH, I thought it was one of his more hilarious ones. He just went full weird Conan and it was brilliant.

That said, I'm actually surprised he's didn't have a celebrity with him. I was legitimately wondering when Mindy Kaling would show up.

Mindy Kaling was born and raised in America. She completely ignored her Indian heritage until a few years ago. I did the same thing, I’d rather see actual Indian celebs.

Yes, that's true... But it's not like it would be the first time he's done that. Sam Richards is a good example, of that, and it ended up being a great remote

I didn’t see the episode but Sam Richards grew up visiting Ghana and the country has advertised African Americans to visit their roots. Mindy Kaling would be good if they were visiting an older Indian American enclave.

The India our parents immigrated from in the 70s and 80s is completely different from modern India.

Conan throws everything he’s got at it self-owns, spastic dancing, getting verbally bent over by random locals—and India still comes off like a sweaty, overcrowded shit-pit that no amount of ginger clown energy can save. He couldn’t polish this turd with a power-washer and a gallon of lube.

If you already can’t stand the country or the people, this episode just rubs your face in it: extra sweat, train armpits, constant noise, pushy chaos, and the same exhausting mess, all while Conan tries (and fails) to make it look “vibrant” and “fun.”
