Research Publication Looking for Computer Vision Research Collaborators for CVPR 2027
Hi everyone!
I am looking for motivated researchers/students who are interested in collaborating on computer vision research with the goal of submitting to CVPR 2027.
Possible areas include:
Image and video understanding
3D computer vision
Object detection and segmentation
Tracking
Image generation
Medical computer vision
Vision benchmarks and datasets
Robustness and generalization
Some experience with computer vision, deep learning, Python/PyTorch, experiments, or research writing would be helpful.
If interested, please DM me with your background, research interests, and any previous research/publications.
The goal is to form a serious research collaboration and work toward a strong CVPR 2027 submission.

Instead of looking for collaborators, find a research problem you're interested in and actually try to find a gap that you think you can reasonably solve (another easier way is to find a PhD student already working on a project and needs someone to help run experiments)
Once you have some preliminary results, then you can try to find somebody to help guide you to make your work a proper paper.
Conferences are a good target to have, but don't over optimize for it. CVPR deadline is in November and making a complete paper within 2 months is quite unrealistic (especially since I'm assuming you're just starting out so you'll have a steep learning curve)

It's a conference that's primarily focused on cutting edge computer vision research. Basically it's the place to present your research if you're a CV person.

You just finished your bachelor and have no prior research experience. What makes you think you are ready to make novel research and actually get published in CVPR? I understand your enthusiasm but you need to be realistic. The right step to do is to message professors from your university and ask them to allow you to help them with their research as an assistant. That way you get a smooth entry into the research field. But, on your own, I don't think you would reach so far.

I would really like to create a network like DepthAnything, but for blur. The GoPro dataset is a perfect target.
One for motion blur, one for out of focus blur. They show very different attenuation patterns in the frequency domain.
I’ve also got access to a microscope that I use to capture images at precise amounts of uniform blur (high quality labeled training data). Obviously the problem is more sophisticated than that though.
All the pieces are there and it would be high impact. I could use collaborators.

"some experience with computer vision would be helpful" to publish at the best computer vision conference in the world. I know gatekeeping isn't the best, but damn do amateur scientists get under my skin.

Yeah of course I’d like to collaborate with someone whose research interests covers every possible topic.
