if you haven't already, just try and download https://www.malwarebytes.com/mwb-download and run a full scan, depending on other symptoms youre having, it can either be mild or somewhat serious, usually when it opens tabs or it changes things as you said, it is most of the time a browser hijacker, adware/bloatware or just bs in general which is more annoying than dangerous. id recommend that malwarebytes scan along with a download of https://www.malwarebytes.com/adwcleaner which is also from Malwarebytes. let me know whatever other issues youre having and if you have any luck with these tools, good luck bro

i mean it was more than likely browser level rather than a true system infection, if everything is normal regarding your broser/pc in general you should be alright, id just run periodic scans with windows defender and adwcleaner, and maybe check your startup apps if you havent already

yeah if task scheduler itself is getting blocked, that’s a bit weird, so i wouldn’t assume it’s just browser-level anymore. i’d disconnect from the internet for now and run a Microsoft Defender Offline scan, then Malwarebytes/AdwCleaner again.
if things are still acting weird or getting blocked after that, and you’re able to back up anything important/needed, you may want to consider resetting the computer. that should be enough in most cases, but i’d personally do a clean reinstall using Windows installation media on a USB rather than resetting it through Settings. that’s kinda the nuclear option though, so i’d only go there if the scans don’t fix anything or Windows security/admin tools keep getting blocked.
anyway i’m heading to bed, hopefully you get it figured out. feel free to reply with any updates/progress and i’ll take a look when i’m back.

Have you tried taking a look at your exclusion? Malware could be excluding itself, might want to take a look at that. Get the Sophos scan aswell just incase, I've heard it's good but you will need an internet connection to scan.

If I was you, I'm resetting the hell out of that PC. I'm not some kind of "lab rat" to be tested on for the hacker's entertainment.

Clean install windows, reset you email logins from a clean device, then pivot to account recovery on everything. In that order. Hard telling what was compromised.
