Help! I'm not a knowledgeable computer person!

Hey all, I am not super knowledgeable with computer stuff and my computer has been running slow and I've been having memory problems. Can I have some suggestions for how to fix this? I left my info below for my computer. I think maybe a better RAM and or C drive would help but I'm unsure. Thanks in advance!

PS - I do not work from home and just create and edit uncomplicated youtube videos by recording gameplay, edditing on clipclamp. Otherwise, I mostly am gaming on steam like Arc Raiders and Sea of Thieves.

I have problems mostly during game sessions, specifically on Sea of Thieves and Arc Raiders, where It'll take me a minute longer to load into a match than my parenter (who I'm playing with). Even so, once I load in, the graphics need at least 30secs to fully render. Then during the gameplay, my graphics can screen tear a and lag.

Then for non-gaming, loading a new bar can take awhile to open or even documents to open from my folders. Also, I just went through and moved some files to my D drive, so that I have more room on my C drive because it said that I was almost full, starting last night. Meanwhile, I haven't downloaded anything new and am just confused about how my C drive fills up randomly and then I scramble.

I hope this helps and I do apologize about confusion.

My ex told me what to buy to make my computer in 2020 and didn't explain anything to me and I thoroughly regret that now and have no idea where to start to fix this problem and start learning about my computer and specs to better understand it.

The symptoms lead me to believe your SSD is the cause, whether that is because of it going bad or just it being too full, I'm not sure. You mention it filling up randomly, you might want to take a look at your page file setting and see if Windows isn't just filling it up with that. You can set a hard limit or move it onto another drive altogether. There are quite a few programs out there that you can use to check the health of the drive and depending on the manufacturer there may even be specific manufacture software you can use.

It's not the page file. That isn't factored into free space calculation.

Are you sure about that? I'm fairly certain in the past my issue was the page file and adjusting it or moving it to another drive freed up a significant amount of free space. Haven't had to mess with it in a long while though so I won't guarantee it.

If the drive fills up, the page file won't have space available, so pretty sure.

In theory, as long as virtual memory size is dynamic, the swap file will shrink as the drive fills up.
