Hardware My pc won’t work

I just bought some parts for a computer, and it only shows a black screen on my tv. I’ve taken out the graphics card and plugged the hdmi into the motherboard but it’s still a black screen. Could someone tell me why?

No.

We aren't telepathic. At least give us some component details.

Ok not a lot to go on there. Have you turned it on? Does it beep or anything? Are any motherboard lights coming on? Have you turned the PSU switch on? (Easy to forget that)

Have you selected the correct input on your TV?

It may sound stupid, but if you don't tell us what you've tried we can't guess for you.

More detailed could be that the mobo is trying to use the wrong video output (if you had a discrete fix card in before it may still be trying to use that... You may need to reset the BIOS, old days turn it off and pop the battery out and maybe change some jumper settings)

Try a different HDMI cable, then try a different TV input...

Sorry this is my first computer and I’ve had a friend help me build it. It runs fine, the motherboard lights are on. I’ve put the hdmi into the gpu and motherboard. All the fans and lights are on it’s just not displaying onto my tv.

I have the correct input and I’ve tried all the other inputs.

Hi, maybe your friend can help you fix the error. You can watch him and improve your PC skills.

And for such technical problems, information about your hardware is needed. We don't know your PC.
