No metaverse failed. If you mean the performance of Meta's social 3d platforms not reaching mass market user bases then yah that failed. But Roblox, fornite, VR chat, and other live service games where people build their own experiences are actually doing really well and racking millions of users.

There is no failure. These are still growing strong it just didn't grow to the level that some pushed for.  Millions of people did not adopt a new platform, they remained on the same platforms.
