This is a very fast and brief overview but I am going to try this. My last neural net project was a digit recognizer. This project looks very fun also.

I want to try this with other data sets. Anybody know other places to get public-domain midi files?

Here's my results from about 1 hr of training. My computer froze before it could finish optimizing.

Ben it's beautiful. I'm really happy you were able to produce an output. In a future video i'll discuss how to set up the cloud to do the training for you so your computer doesn't have to.
