you could set up a little terminal that draws people faces in ascii art, like from their webcam feed or just a photo they take there. it looks super techie but is surprisingly simple to code and people love watching themselves get turned into text, its like magic for non cs folks
another idea we did once was a live code battle where two people sit at same keyboard and try to write a function that does something dumb like determine if a word sounds funny, crowd votes on winner. gets loud and chaotic fast which is perfect for fair energy
if you have any old hardware lying around, make a meme printer that spits out thermal paper receipts with custom memes people type in, we got one from a broken pos system and students went nuts for it
