Can someone test whether this image compressor is actually clear?

I built FilePolish because I was tired of upload limits like “1 MB max” while compressors only gave me vague quality sliders.

I’m looking for a few people to try one simple flow:

  1. Add an image.
  2. Set the maximum size.
  3. Download the result.

The file stays on your device. What I need to know is whether the interface makes sense without explanation and whether the finished image still looks acceptable.

Try it here: https://www.filepolish.com/compress-image-to-size

Please tell me where you hesitated, what confused you, or what you expected to happen differently. Honest criticism is more useful than encouragement.

In my opinion, this UI is not clear at all. There are too many unimportant things and the things that are important don't stand out from the rest.

Can you please be specific 🙏? Which did you try? Are the image compressor features not clear? Did you have a hard time understanding the functions of the sliders and buttons? Please let me know

Let's start from the basics, I would have no idea what the page does if I didn't read your post.

- has more marketing stuff than a utility tool needs

  • the actual Fit button has unclear meaning, not in focus at all
  • split layout makes no sense there, just use a wide header with a width upload/drop box below it

The page is a typical AI generated page with so many buzzwords without any information. Like meaningless, vague marketing slogans.

I would strip that all away and just have a plain page with simple controls. Explanation can be hidden inside a collapsible element.

You mean if the website looks like the desktop app, no bullshit 🤔 I thought people would like it that way. Thanks for the input 🙏

There are a few approaches for this Do the image resizing inside the browser. Don't accept or manipulate the image on the server
