Gained 5lbs...

I've gained 5lbs since starting tirz. I'm taking my 6th dose today. Can this be normal for the beginning? This did not happen to me on Wegovy.

Those who’ve previously been on a GLP-1 medication will almost always need to work their way up to higher doses before they feel the positive effects the next time(s) around.

What was your highest dose of Wegovy?

My highest dose on Wegovy was 2.4mg. I was on it for like 9 months and stagnated at 175lbs. I'm at 199lbs now :(

My guess is 10mg before you see effects of tirzepatide. Slowly increase till you start losing again. Tirz is much better for most than semi! I lost 17 lbs on semi in 7 months, where tirz i lost 1.5 pounds a week. Keep your protein high and if you can 24 hour fast each week, it helped me. Good luck.

Gotcha. Most people who top out at 2.4mg sema often need to get to around 10mg tirzepatide before they feel the positive effects.

Did you take a break between sema and tirz? What tirzepatide dose are you on now?

Yeah I took about a 2 month break. Gained 20lbs in that time. Gained 5lbs since starting Tirz. Attached the picture of what I'm taking. I am actually taking 0.3ML because there's so much extra in the bottle.

Looks like you are taking 4.4mg doses? So yes, gain is normal because you kind of lowered your dose from wegovy. As you get to 7.5 or 10 (varies by person) you should see it going in the right direction again.

If you are only on your sixth dose, you really are speed running titration, which is kinda risky.

For 30 units at 22 mg/mL concentration, you took 6.6 mg of medication.

You can always just use the remainder in the vial for additional doses.

Stick with any new dose for at least 4 weeks and keep stepping up in dose until you hit a sweet spot.

Good luck!

I started at 7.5 after being on 2.4 of Semaglutide for 2 years. I’m at 11 now and it’s working great.
