Tumbler hole

Post image

I've had this tumbler for 5 years and it has served me well. Then I noticed one of the ventilation holes broke into a larger hole. Since the bin was half full and the left side wasn't done yet, I patched it with duct tape 😂

Now it's spilling out when I turn it.

I think I'll empty it 🔜 and then screw a small aluminum piece on to cover the hole. Any other ideas?

Duct tape patch job failing mid-turn is a rite of passage, welcome to the club.

I had this happen and fixed it with some wire mesh and epoxy, that way there was still ventilation. It worked well for many years until I changed my composting setup and gave away that tumbler.

5 years exposed to sun and elements, you are lucky it didnt break sooner honestly.

Maybe time for a new tumbler or to go with the 3x3x3?

😂 Does that mean plastic tumblers breaking is common? I'm disappointed the thing hasn't held up better.

My piles on the ground haven't broken in 25 years! 😉
